I am American and grew up in Indianapolis and Virginia. I left the US for only the second time in 2000 when my family moved to Hong Kong. Having been uprooted from my life and my home during those delicate teenage years and set down on the other side of the globe, culture shock does not even begin to describe the transformation. When I left the US I was miserable, but within a month of living in Hong Kong I felt as though I had lived in a strange place all my life and only now had found my home. Since then I have been infected by the travel bug and thrive on discovering new cultures, people, practices and places. I have lived in Canada and Thailand, and have travelled a lot in Asia and a little in North America and Europe. So now I want to share my experiences of living and travelling abroad, and I hope my stories inspire everyone to further travels.
